One thing is for sure; the claims that Marquez wasn’t a fit opponent for Floyd are now dashed, as it is obvious that Mayweather wants to be absolutely positive that he can do the job when the two great boxers finally go at it later this year. The fact is, Marquez’s routine has now been interrupted and he is going to have to draw out his plans. Sustaining fighting fitness is never easy, and once the exact date of the postponement is known the mighty Mexican can put his shoulder to the wheel once again.

Mayweather boxing tickets always fly off the shelves. Marquez knows he will receive a well-deserved payday when the two hit the canvass. But a postponement like this can offset many aspects of the training routine. Marquez has it in him to deliver the goods, as much as any before him, and Mayweather will be keeping one eye on the Mexican’s camp now, as the two reshuffle their priorities in time for the real thing.

Arguments now rage over the way this one will turn out. Some say that Marquez’s intelligence is going to be too much for Mayweather, and others say that the younger, faster Mayweather will destroy Marquez. One thing is for sure, this postponement will merely serve to whip up even more furore over the impending duel and that’s never a bad thing in boxing. Stay tuned for the news as it happens.
