As the boxing public begins to look forward to buying Cotto v. Foreman Yankee Stadium tickets, heads are once more turning in a familiar direction; Mayweather vs. Pacquiao tickets are once more being discussed as a reality, after Mayweather beat Shane Mosley on points and re-ignited the discussion of the decade. Mayweather’s accusation that Pacquiao had used drugs to improve performance are all but forgotten as the two camps tentatively begin to explore the possibilities once again. Mayweather carried on his rant against performance enhancing drugs all the way up to his recent Mosley victory, and he has even been commended by people connected to the regulation of such things in the sport of boxing.
Pacquiao still has a defamation lawsuit pending against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his camp, but we imagine this will be swiftly withdrawn when – sorry, if – the two decide to climb into the ring to fight. Now Mayweather has done his part in the double anti-climax involving Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosley, it seems he is ready to let bygones be bygones and reach some kind of workable agreement with Mayweather’s people. A bid to make this fight happen is underway, make no mistake about that. Who knows which way it will go? I suspect that Mayweather will be still pushing for the same type of unlimited urine testing but with possible constraints on blood sampling around the time of the actual fight, whenever that may be.
Just a couple of days following Mayweather Jr’s defeat of Mosley, Pacquiao began to talk about this fight getting back on track. Mayweather v Pacquiao may still happen, and that’s the one the whole world wants to see. Mayweather continues to show that he is prepared to suffer virtually any inconvenience to make sure he isn’t using performance enhancing drugs. I guess we can take this as evidence that he doesn’t use them, right?
Pacquiao’s refusal to undergo the testing was most likely a reaction to the controlling nature of the Mayweather camp, when he stated he would only entertain an end to blood testing 30 days before the fight. He gave in to 24 days eventually, but this ended up not being enough to see things through. Now, however, we may have another shot at seeing this monumental superfight. Mayweather v. Pacquiao could have happened before we hit 2011, and that will be fantastic.

There are people buying tickets today to see Sugar Shane Mosley beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. but Floys insists that he is the “Undefeated”, with 40 wins to his credit and not a loss in sight. Mayweather Mosley tickets will put you right in the atmosphere where the unbeaten and the underestimated will clash and discover who is really the boss. Mosley is convinced that he can do it against Mayweather, though, but the odds are stacked against Shane Mosley. Mayweather has taken on what many would consider better men than Mosley, fighters like Marquez, De La Hoya and Hatton, but the buzz in Vegas is that Mosley is ready to emerge as a true victorious underdog. Mayweather is considered the world’s best – better than Pacquiao, even – and it will take a titanic nothing-to-lose effort by Mosley to overcome the raw power and effortless moves of Money May.
Mayweather v. Mosley tickets won’t be come the day of the fight, because they’re starting to sell fast as the day approches. There will undoubtedly be many boxing tickets seekers outside the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, looking for stray fight tickets to no avail, as the rumors begin to fly about the punching power and resilience of Mosley. The fact is, Mosley has beaten De La Hoya twice during his career, and he is really is a hard, fast puncher. Mayweather will have to be ready and not underestimate Mosley, as the 38-year old is more than capable of pulling one last rabbit from his hatful of boxing tricks. Mosley hasn’t competed in the ring for nearly one and a half years, and this might prove the decisive factor that catches him unawares. Having said that, Mayweather hasn’t exactly been living in the ring either, coming out of retirement for the Marquez fight after a lengthy absence. Also Mosley has had some great results in his last several fights, including a narrow loss to Cotto in one of the Puerto Rican’s favorite stomping grounds, Madison Square Garden. Not everyone can go to New York and put that kind of a show on against a power puncher like Cotto, but Mosley was almost the victor. His 7-1 record for the last 8 bouts he’s fought are making boxing buffs speculate whether Mayweather hasn’t placed another obstacle between himself and Manny Pacquiao. One thing is for sure, if you buy Mayweather tickets for the May 1 bout, you’ll be impressed by the stamina of both fighters, but only one will prevail. Mosley has said “May first will be May’s first loss” and Mayweather insists that it will be business as usual there in Vegas. We’ll see about that!

When Mayweather Mosley tickets started selling super-fast, no-one was surprised, and least of all Sugar Shane Mosley. The 39-year old has vowed that he will “retire Mayweather”, saying he will be the victor in their long-awaited clash on May 1, declaring, “May first will be May’s first loss”. Mosley was himself the proud owner of a 38-0 record when he experienced his own Waterloo, and it is this, he claims, that will be in his favor when he steps into the ring with the man they call Money May. Mayweather v. Mosley tickets are going to be the biggest boxing ticket in the world this spring, and if you are going to be anywhere close to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas you should head on down and take a look. See if Mosley actually does retire Mayweather like he says he will. Mayweather Jr. tickets are not the best-selling boxing tickets for nothing, though. Floyd is still the undefeated, the king of the ring, and many doubt that Mosley can make a difference to that. Most are still waiting for the Mayweather Pacquioa showdown, but in the meantime, this one will probably be a pretty big hitter.
Mosley has been saying many things since he interrupted Mayweather’s post-fight interview back when he beat Marquez and now he is saying a lot more. “I’m pretty sure that Floyd will feel more power in this fight that he will have ever had to feel”, Mosley recently said. “And if I can get that knockout, if I get that one shot, and if I can get him hurt, then I’m going to be all over him”. Looks like it’s gonna be another great fight, as 2010 hots up in the ring!

If you know your boxing, you’ll be thinking about the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, and Mayweather Mosley tickets. Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement, beat Juan Manuel Marquez and then went headlong into a self-destructive shambles in the run-in to his massively anticipated fight with Manny Pacquiao. Many of Mayweather’s critics said that Marquez was a stooge, not a real opponent, but most of them were forgetting that Marquez is a real boxer’s boxer and not someone you can afford to push around with no backup plan. The Pacquiao fight dissolved in a mess of bickering and unreasonable demands from the Mayweather camp regarding drug testing, and for a while it looked like Floyd just didn’t want to fight Pacman. After being in retirement and deciding to reignite his career, maybe Mayweather just got cold feet and wanted another fight before he took on the supposedly greatest living boxer, maybe not. The fact is, Shane Mosley is another worthy opponent – fair enough, he’s no Manny Pacquiao, but he is a handful – and Mayweather Mosley tickets are going to be the year’s hottest fight tickets, no question.
Mayweather v Mosley tickets won’t be as in demand as Mayweather Pacquiao fight tickets, but they will be pretty huge. Sometime in the future, MoneyMay will have to fight Pacquiao. Pacquiao’s recent defeat of Clottey will have energized him into absolute confidence, and Mayweather knows he is waiting in the wings, perhaps literally, for his chance to prove once and for all who is the top dog.
If Mayweather beats Mosley (and realistically he cannot fail to do this) then maybe he’ll finally be confident enough to take on Pacquiao. Mayweather Mosley tickets represent an important stepping stone in both mens’ journey to a fight they must have nightmares about at this point, it has hung over them for so long. If you’re serious about being in Vegas for this latest installment in the Mayweather Mosley drama, you won’t be disappointed. Ever since Mosley interrupted Floyd’s afterfight interview when he beat Marquez, he’s been gunning for Mosley – and Mosley says “bring it on!”
That’s why it will be such a good fight. Mayweather Mosley, two guys who don’t seem to like each other and want to go toe-to-toe..
Mayweather Mosley tickets are where it’s at, so buy yours and be one of those who can say they were there when it went down!

So, it happened like they said it would, but Marquez gave his all, and that’s why people love him. This fight was electric, though, with Mayweather desperate to avoid Marquez’s lethal blows by keeping his left shoulder raised and indeed rapidly withdrawing from the fray when Marquez looked to be weighing up a big one. That said, Floyd was amazing, as ever. He stood before the Mexican with his arms down throughout the fight, mocked him with funny faces, and basically ground his down with some serious left hooks and relentless jabs that were both persistent and powerful. The following weekend saw Latino hero Chris Arreola take on Vitali Klitschko, with Arreola’s corner throwing in the towel, against the wishes of Arreola. Klitschko tickets have always sold well, for both of the Klitschko brothers, and this one was a telling rampage from the Ukrainian powerhouse.
Next up is the most-awaited of the year, the Cotto v. Pacquiao fight that threatens to blow all the rest away in 2009. When Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather steps back into the ring in a couple of weeks, the speculation over whether he is giving himself an easy ride will be settled once and for all. Another factor that tells us something about the significance – or perceived significance – of this bout is the price of Mayweather v. Marquez tickets; when compared to the upcoming Cotto-Pacquiao tickets, there is a distinct price difference. Mayweather v. Marquez tickets, though a hugely anticipated bout, seems not to be currently selling as fast as Cotto v. Pacquiao tickets. This is most likely due to the fact that the Mayweather Marquez bout was postponed; the pressure to buy boxing tickets was relieved slightly, but it looks like a lot of boxing fans might be disappointed if they leave it to long.
Golden Boy Promotions have referred to the face-off as “the biggest fight of this year”, but the Cotto people might have something to say about that. Cotto-Pacquiao ticket sales for their November 14 fight at same venue look somewhat more vigorous and many are saying that this reflects the greater importance of the Cotto fight. Tickets for Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight have been on public sale since August 17, 2009, and have been selling like crazy in the run-in to the big one at the MGM Grand. The entire arena was declared sold out by promoter Bob Arum within a few hours; advance bulk orders placed by the Vegas casino operators meant that the general public experienced severely diminished numbers of tickets being available. Mayweather’s nickname, “Money” Mayweather, looks to be threatened ahead of their fight, but many of those in the know are laughing – they know it was the postponement that caused the lull in Mayweather tickets sales, and they warn that a last minute tickets stampede will mean peoples’ complacency could be their worst enemy. You read it here first.
There are more arguments about the ticket prices. Mayweather v. Marquez tickets are currently going for around $4,500 to $5,000. Cotto v. Pacquiao tickets are currently avaliable at around $10,000. Skeptics claim that this further proves the greater importance of the Cotto bout, but there’s another way to see it; if indeed the Cotto Pacquiao fight was sold out because of casino operators buying up blocks of tickets, then Cotto tickets will be scarcer and anyone knows that this will drive up their price. If the Mayweather Marquez tickets have suffered a lull in sales due to the injury to Mayweather, then more Mayweather tickets being available means ticket prices themselves will be down. These two fights have been drawn into a strange competition, which is only a part of a larger situation that involves UFC 103 tickets; the Mayweather Marquez fight will be staged at the exact same time as UFC 103 in Dallas, Texas. The two events have been subject to a crazy wrangle that means the TV networks are now fighting over who will draw the most viewers for the spectacles. At the same time, the Mayweather Marquez tickets sales and the UFC 103 tickets sales might be affected by the coincidence. Such is life….such is the fight game…

A novel contest between boxing and UFC fighting has sprung up ahead of the much-anticipated bout between Mayweather and Marquez. The Mayweather Marquez boxing fight will happen on the same Saturday night as UFC 103: Franklin v. Belfort, at the same time. This has got the TV companies in quite a state! No-one saw it coming, but competition for viewership between UFC 103 and the Golden Boys Promoted main event between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Marquez is set to heat up the airwaves. The two sets of promoters have now been plunged into a face-off as they fight to convince fight fans to watch their show instead of the other guys. It’s hard to believe anyone would ever put UFC above boxing, but that’s just my (heavily biased) opinion. What would you buy, Mayweather Marquez tickets or UFC 103 tickets? Spike TV have now announced that they will be screening an hour (8 fights) of the UFC 103 undercard commercial free prior to the pay per view portion of the event kicking in. In response, Golden Boy has sanctioned the Mayweather-Marquez card to be screened in 170 movie theatres across the country.
The press release reads as follows:
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Fathom [Events] into the Golden Boy family of sponsors as their interest in the Mayweather vs. Marquez mega-fight is another indication of the sheer magnitude of the fight itself,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “Having the fight in high definition in movie theaters throughout the country is unprecedented and gives boxing fans another outlet to watch the compelling action of a big-time fight.”
Not since the golden era of the early 80s has there been a boxing fight screened live in movie theaters. The 1980 bout between “Sugar” Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran was the last one, and it received massive attention. This is all so much words, though, if you are a true boxing fan and you really want to be in Vegas for Mexican Independence Day, when Mexican Marquez takes on American Mayweather. The entire city will be consumed by the fight and its significance, and to actually have Mayweather tickets for the Marquez fight will be a dream come true for some, but not for all. After all, a night at the movies costs almost as much as the real thing, so why accept substitutes? It’s gonna get very interesting as the night of the two big fights draws near; both of these fight cards are very impressive, but for me there’s only one winner: Mayweather v. Marquez. The reason? The winner gets to fight Manny Pacquiao – and let’s not forget that Cotto v. Pacquiao tickets are also selling well right now. Gee, the world’s a great place when there are some killer fights on the horizon, huh?

So, you’ve got your Mayweather tickets and you’ve booked the hotel room in Vegas. The question now remains: Who’s gonna win? Some say Mayweather, some say Marquez, but one thing’s for sure: It’s gonna be one heck of a fight, and could well go the distance. Mayweather owns the most rapid fists in the fight game, but Marquez has the most accurate. Mayweather has the moves, the power and the big single punch to knock people out, even good boxers and clever old dogs like Marquez. But Marquez is not without movement – in his case the movement of an intelligent fighter who anticipates his opponent’s game-plan on the fly and then effectively sticks a spanner in the works with devastating effect. Mayweather is not without his own skills in that department though; blessed with raw strength and a sinuous upper body flexibility, Mayweather is able to pull off the most amazing dodges while sizing up his foe’s weak spots and degree of tiredness. He seems to actually gain energy as the fight goes on, and this is a nightmare for tiring opponents. When you buy tickets to Mayweather Marquez, you buy tickets to the unknown. That’s why Mayweather v. Marquez tickets are selling so fast now. Just like those Pacquiao v. Cotto tickets everyone’s talking about, this fight is really an open question mark, and both sides are well represented.
Some are saying that Mayweather is suffering from “ring rust”, even more so now the fight has been postponed. It will be almost two years since he fought a real fight when he finally goes up against the mighty Mexican, and Marquez, wily fox that he is, will use this for all it’s worth against him, switching his own game plan and upping the energy level at unexpected moments, for which he is famous. One thing is for sure; Marquez better have some serious intent behind those blows, because Mayweather’s “Pretty Boy” nickname is nothing to do with his willingness to stand up and take a punch. He can roll with the dangerous swingers, tuck his chin down deep to avoid the jabs and uppercuts, and all the while those eyes and that brain never stop working. Marquez knows all this and more, of course, but whether this will help him as the fight goes on is anybody’s guess right now. I just wanna grab my Mayweather v. Marquez tickets and be there when the bell goes and these top dogs step up!
Marquez is also the master of the counter punch. he can hurt with both hands, as Juan Diaz discovered to his surprise at the end of their fight earlier this year. Diaz was knocked out by a vicious Marquez combo, a trademark series of disorienting smashes that saw him on the canvass before he even knew he was there. Marquez is confident of a victory in Vegas, but Mayweather will not hear of it. And then there are the critics, those who insist that this is a mere stop-gap for Mayweather before he finally gets the big one against Pacman. Then there are those who think it will be quite another story; a showdown not between Mayweather and Pacman but between Marquez and Pacquiao. Either way, it will be a hell of a thing. Marquez seems like the underdog, but there are a few variables in his favor. One is the rib injury sustained by Mayweather that caused this fight to be postponed. A rib injury can be a recurring thing if not allowed time to heal, and only nature will show us if this fight has been re-scheduled correctly. Another is the fact that the two fight on Mexican Independence Day; Vegas will be packed with Marquez’ fellow countrymen, and they’ll all be wanting their boy to get a piece of the Pretty Boy. Add it all up and you will see that this fight really is a trip into the unknown. Marquez is no underdog, and Mayweather is probably aware of that. Grab your Marquez Mayweather tickets and watch a night of boxing you will quite simply never forget.

I’m a huge fan of Pacquiao – I’m the first to admit – but there’s something about Cotto that intrigues me. Cotto v. Pacquiao tickets are selling fast largely due to the respect Cotto commands. The guy seems to have been around forever, smashing people up in the ring, that you simply have to respect him. And he looks the part, too, just like Pacquiao. I cannot wait to see who comes out on top when these two hit the ring and start in on each other. Even without a title to fight for, this fight is between two of boxing’s most unpredictable fighters. When Pacman battered De La Hoya nobody expected it, but he came out and simply destroyed a boxer everyone at least suspected had half a chance of winning. The phenomenal Filipino won’t be taking this one lying down, that’s for sure. But neither will Cotto, which is why it is so eagerly anticipated. It would be nice to be alive to see anyone take his seventh weight class title, but Pacquiao deserves it more than most. Like any true athlete, you know that Cotto will be trying to prevent that from happening with every fiber of his being here, and Vegas is the place to be come November 14. Cotto-Pacquiao fight tickets are everyone’s dream, definitely mine, and who would ever turn down the chance to be ringside at the MGM Grand for this one?
Promoter Bob Arum, who has both boxers in his Top Rank stable, has insisted the decision to go ahead with this fight has always been “up to the fighters”. Arum certainly won’t be losing any sleep over the prospect of two of his boys going toe-to-toe,especially one that has generated so much interest and seems to have no anticipated outcome. Pacman is still the undisputed top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, but Cotto doesn’t seem to have any regard for that. Trainer Roach is now concerned wth ensuring Pacquiao keeps out of Cotto’s long reach and iron hands. Many have said Pacman lacks the “sand” to stand up to a real punch from Cotto, but with his speed and explosive combos, it is hoped Pacquiao will produce the goods and land one on Cotto that puts him out of action. It’s a tough one to call, but I will be surprised if this happens. After all, wasn’t Cotto one of the people who openly criticized the decision to go ahead with the De La Hoya v. Pacquiao fight? On what grounds, you might well ask: On the grounds that Pacman wasn’t big enough, that he lacked the chin to deal with De La Hoya’s superior weight. That claim now looks laughable, following Pacman’s clinical and animal destruction of De La Hoya. Is Cotto worried that such a turnaround might happen to him, too? Freddie Roach says that Pacquiao doesn’t just have the chin, but that Pacman will run rings round Cotto, so long as he can stay out of the way of the big punches Cotto is known to be capable of.
“Manny has a really good chin because he has a big heart. Of course Cotto’s power is a major concern for me but I really think that we will have no problems. I’m training Manny not to get hit,” Roach recently said. “Manny has always wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr,” Roach added. “The Mayweather fight got delayed because of injury and Manny needed a fight around year’s end. After watching the [Cotto-Clottey] fight Manny told (Bob) Arum that he could beat Cotto,” said Roach.
Roach has been spending his days studying Cotto’s style, just as he so effectively did before the Hatton fight. The Bostonian Roach knows that his fighter’s speed is a valuable weapon against Cotto, and he has been keeping his eye on Cotto’s previous success against similarly fast opponents. “I have already watched several hours of Cotto’s fights. I have been concentrating on how well he did against Shane Mosley. How he neutralized Shane’s speed. Yes, we will have a great game plan for Cotto,” Roach revealed.
Cotto is probably taking all this in stride. The Puerto Rican is made of the right stuff, and that is why Cotto v. Pacquiao tickets are selling so well. Cotto versus Pacquiao, folks, it is being billed as a bigger, more interesting (and obviously more consequential) bout than the Mayweather-Marquez one. Who do you think will come out on top in this, the biggest bout in a big boxing year? Write in and let me know.
